Now in it’s fourth year the Oh Yeah Music Centre’s Scratch My Progress scheme deadline is fast approaching. If you’re a solo musician or band from Northern Ireland you have until tomorrow, Monday 13th April 2015 to apply.
The programme is designed to give applicants access to industry advice and expertise that would otherwise be difficult to attain. Participants will speak to lawyers and accountants, vocal coaches, PR experts to help them make music into a career. There is also mentoring in business and marketing with advice on interview skills and stage management. One of the major perks is the chance to write and record a track professionally for a showcase EP and take part in a special gig at the end of the programme.
The partners of the programme include Pledge Music, Help Musicians UK, the PRS for Music Foundation and The Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Many of the participants in past years have greatly benefited from taking part; Go Wolf, Katharine Philippa & Frances Mitchell (LORIS) to name just three.
