Trucker Diablo – ‘Drive’

Trucker Diablo – ‘Drive’

The number of top class Hard Rock/Metal bands we have in NI is astonishing and Trucker Diablo is right up there with the very best of them. Trucker Diablo is a very hard-working band and a very switched-on band in terms of their organisation but none of this matters if they couldn’t write a tune. But they clearly can. ‘Drive’ is an catchy driving anthem which sounded great coming through my speakers but is made for blasting out of your car stereo preferably with the top down (were we not living in a country that gets snowbound at Easter). The production is fantastic; bass-y, fat and not dominated by any instrument to the detriment of the others. Tom Harte’s vocals cut through in a very radio-friendly manner without being soft. I can’t see this single doing anything but enhance their reputation and help sell their second album, ‘Songs of Iron’. All lovers of good straight-ahead no frills Heavy Rock should love what this band is doing. The ‘Big Truck’ will keep on rollin’ probably with even more momentum than before.

A terrific live band, you should check them out at your next opportunity.

‘Drive’ was released on 28th March and ‘Songs of Iron‘ is released on May 18th.
