This week is a particularly difficult one for me to single out individual gigs for particularly when there are several must see gigs as part of the BelNash Festival, not to mention the fact the Killers are in town.

Transmit Presents Fighting With Wire – Limelight – Wednesday 20th February 2013
Pure Savage Music Promotions have lined up local legends Fighting With Wire to headline their weekly event in the Limelight. It is their first appearance in Northern Ireland’s captial since the release of their impressive second album, ‘Colonel Blood.’ There is also a fantasic supporting local cast in the form of Hornets, Stillpoint and Dollface Deveraux.

You can try and win tickets here or else buy them from Ticketmaster for only £6. There will also be some on the doors.


SONI Presents Rupture Dogs – Hague’s Bar, Lisburn – Thursday 21st February 2013
Our friends at SONI are always putting on fantastic gigs in a variety of locations and this week is no exception. Setting up show in Hague’s Bar they have invited the very loud grunge rockers Rupture Dogs to tear up the place. It is also a homecoming show for Deadlights who you will also need earplugs for. The line up is completed by Runaway Bears and Heff.

Tickets are available on the door for only £4.50!


Empty Lungs – Bar SUB – Saturday 23rd February 2013
Empty Lungs take to Queen’s Students Union to launch their ‘Stand Up’ EP. The Belfast trio are highly regarded in the local scene and with six new tracks of passionate, hook driven, anthemic rock and roll to show off, it is bound to be a night to remember. The evening will be hosted by the ever entertaining BeeMickSee with support slots for Desert Hearts, Lantern For A Gale and Jamie Neish.

Tickets available for £5 without booking fee from QUBSU or from Ticketmaster. Tickets will be priced £6 on the door.
