After a hectic week of gigs there is yet more for live music fans to celebrate as we take some brave first steps into May. Particularly we have the return of the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival which is sure to be as delightful as always.
Little Miss Stakes – Voodoo, Belfast – Wednesday 30th April 2014
The horror punk band Little Miss Stakes are taking over Voodoo to celebrate Walpurgis Night and more importantly raise some funds for a UK tour later this year. The supporting bill is just as exciting with The Unprotected, Eighty Four & Kickstart finalists Car Chase City.
Admission is £5 on the door or £3 if you opt for horror orientated dress
SOAK – Black Box, Belfast – Thursday 1st May 2014
Reports from across the water suggest that bloggers and general music punters are jumping on the SOAK bandwagon and she’s building up some traction. Thankfully CQAF have brought her back to our shores for an intimate performance in the Black Box. In what is a double headline show she shares the stage with the mesmerising Lisa O’Neill.
Admission is £8 on the door or directly from the QCAF website
Girls Names – Black Box, Belfast – Saturday 3rd May 2014
Another treat from the CQAF organisers is a local show from NI Music Prize 2013 nominees and blogosphere favourites, Girls Names. The four piece have managed to go under the radar here but are undoubtedly one of our biggest musical exports right now. Support from Dublin’s TWINKRANES.
Entry is £7 on the door or in advance from the QCAF website.
