Rob’s Gig Guide: 8th April – 14th April 2013

We sincerely hope you have been enjoying our Glasgowbury 2013 coverage and rest assured Peter is putting the final touches to our video coverage of the festival and will have it online this week.

Voodoo – King’s Head – Thursday 1st August 2013
Bluesy rock band Voodoo are a fairly new addition to the local scene and this Thursday they take to the King’s Head to release their debut CD.  They generally put their own spin on the likes of Hendrix, the Rolling Stones and Clapton but we do hear that original material is in the works.

Tickets are £5 on the door and you get the CD for FREE

We Are Scientists – Limelight 2 – Saturday 3rd August 2013
Genuinely one of the most enthralling live acts make their return to Belfast this Saturday. Known for their laid back humour and catchy indie tunes you would be mad to miss out on We Are Scientists. Not to mention one of the best bands in NI today, More Than Conquerors, are the support!

Tickets are priced at £18 and are available from Ticketmaster

Farriers & Arco String Quartet – Bangor Abbey – Saturday 3rd August 2013
Need a bit of folk heaven in your life? Well Farriers take to the unusually quirky venue of Bangor Abbey with the orchestral Arco String Quartet in what will be a spectacular evening of music. Fans of Ryan Adams and the Civil Wars should take note, we have that level of outstanding talent on our own doorstep.

Tickets are £12.50 and are available directly from Open House Festival
