Rob’s Gig Guide: 19th – 25th August 2013

Literally just in the door from Stendhal Festival of Art and what was a great weekend. The weather stayed mostly dry and a plethora of local bands impressed old fans and won over plenty of new ones. Our coverage will start appearing over the next few days but a massive pat on the back to the team at Stendhal and a thank you for having us up. Back to porridge though for myself and Team CB but there’s yet again more great gigs a little closer to home this week.

Petty Youth – Voodoo, Belfast – Tuesday 12th August 2014

No nonsense rockers Petty Youth are gearing up to record their debut EP and are playing a headline show to raise a few funds for it. Support comes from Thee Dreadfuls, Two-Tone Revolver and The Racks.

Gallery Circus – Menagerie, Belfast – Thursday 14th August 2014

Old Fang’s latest gig is a beaut with duo Gallery Circus offering a masterclass in bluesy rock from which many three or four pieces could take a few notes. Support on the evening comes from local singer songwriter and former Colly Strings front man, Travis Gilbert aka Travis is a Tourist.

Tickets are £5 on the door

Team RKT – Bar Sub, Belfast – Friday 8th – Friday 15th August 2014

Team RKT play a unique brand of pop with scores of video game effects churned in with the normal guitars and drums that often takes people by surprise. To celebrate the launch of their Cat Island EP the band play their first ever headline show in Bar Sub. Support comes from Affleck and Callum Stewart.

Tickets are £5 on the door
