Where has June gone, it is hard to believe that we’re not edging into July and the real countdown to festival season begins. It’s been a busy few days as Peter and I ventured to Volume Control’s Pre-Glasgowbury warm up show and had a blast. We saw Kickstart winners Those Ghosts live for the first time and they even took part in a brief interview which’ll appear later this week. Last night I witnessed General Fiasco’s last ever gig together as they played as Duke Special’s band in what was an impressive if sad end to their journey. It’ll be interesting to see if there are any new projects from them in the coming months.
Transmit: Pocket Billiards – Limelight – Wednesday 3rd July 2013
The ever raucous ska rockers Pocket Billiards return to the Limelight to headline Transmit’s latest show. Also on the bill are two acts that are always keen to tear up the place and cause chaos in rapper BeeMickSee and glam rockers, The Unprotected.

The Emerald Armada – The Empire – Thursday 4th July 2013
The Emerald Armada will bring some acoustic folk tinged goodness to the Empire this Thursday in what is billed as their last Belfast show in a while. The chilled folk vibe continues throughout the bill with Feet For Wings, Sons Of Caliber and Stu Larsen all providing a fantastic soundtrack.

Death of a Salesman – Stiff Kitten – Friday 5th July 2013
For those of you keen for something a bit heavier, Shizznigh Promotions’ latest gig should hit the spot. Headlined by Death of a Salesman and featuring a plethora of the similarly noisy bands including Stands with Heretics, By Any Means, Safe Ships, Altus and ForChristSake you’ll definitely need the ear plugs for this one.
