The moment you’ve all been waiting for or perhaps not…anyway my gig guide is back. January tends to be a quiet month for shows as everyone recovers from the traumas of Christmas and pines for their bank balance to move back into the black. Still for those with an appetite for some great local music here are three shows that you shouldn’t miss.
A Northern Light – Voodoo, Belfast – Tuesday 21st January 2014
Bearly Organised Promotions have put together a jam packed night of local music for your perusal. Headlined by A Northern Light, who released one of our favourite singles from last year, ‘Kill It’. They are joined on the bill by The Unprotected, Podracer, The Big Grizzly, Exit Pursued By Bear
Admission is £4 on the door
Breed: Levity Breaks – Pavilion, Belfast – Friday 24th January 2014
Regular gig promoters Breed start the new year with a promising line-up. Headliners Levity Breaks released a well received EP, Maudlin at the tale end of 2013 so expectations are high. Similarly their supports In An Instant and Paper Man have both received nods of approval locally as ones to watch.
Admission is £5.00 on the door
The Answer – Diamond Rock Club, Ahoghill – Saturday 25th January 2014
After the release of their fourth album, The Answer have jetted off on an extensive tour. Thankfully they haven’t forgotten about good old NI with a headline performance in the venue of choice for classic rock – The Diamond Rock Club. Support comes from our own answer to AC/DC in the form of the Screaming Eagles.
Admission is £15 on the door or £16.50 in advance from WeGotTickets
