Despite the fact there are no more tickets there are posters all over Belfast advertising what will be a fantastic weekend of music up in Derry/Londonderry. Daveit will be representing Chordblossom over the three days so we’ll hopefully be bringing you some great content from there. Although I did manage to get a ticket for Saturday in the ballot and am very excited to see Frightened Rabbit, Foals and Biffy Clyro. If you are in need of some good music and haven’t managed to grab a ticket for the Big Weekend then there are still some crackers on offer!

Transmit roll out indie pop band the Wonder Villains for their weekly showcase. Known for their energetic and entertaining live shows and fresh from a headline show in London the young band are heading places. Support on the evening comes from Before Machines and Audio Cavalry.

Robyn G Shiels – The Barge – Friday 24th May 2013
Robyn G Shiels takes to the Barge in Belfast to promote his latest release, Underneath the Night of Stars. An evening of heart on the sleeve songs beckons from the man who writes “decent tunes for decent folks”. The song titles and subject matter may be depressing but Robyn is able to craft beautiful songs around them.

Breed: Master & Dog – Pavilion – Friday 24th May 2013
Folk rock purveyors Master & Dog are just back from a successful jaunt round Europe and look to provide the perfect soundtrack to your Friday evening. Big hitters ‘Canada’ and ‘Long May You Reign’ are more than enough to justify the entry fee. Support comes from the Altered Hours and Joshua Burnside.
