With May there is a always great selection of gigs as we head towards a summer of festivals but for those of you students lumbered with exams or those of us with adult responsibilities it can feel like we’re missing out on all the fun. This month due to varying commitments I won’t be able to attend as many as I would like but there are plenty you shouldn’t miss out on.
Enter Shikari – Mandela Hall – Tuesday 30the April 2013
Post hardcore rockers Enter Shikari hit Belfast (or Londonderry/Derry the next night) for what is a highly anticipated show. They have been around for over 10 years and have consistently sold out every increasing capacity shows.
Tickets available online and at door for £19.50
Getting to Know: Soak – Oh Yeah Centre – Thursday 2nd May 2013
Winner of our original Kickstarter competition, Soak has seen here stock rise significantly over the past year, with some high profile support slots and of course signing to Universal she no doubt has a big future ahead of her. But if you want to know more about her, what inspires here song writing and naturally hear her play a few songs, you need to get down to this event.
Entry is completely FREE but you must reserve a place in advance by emailing: info@ohyeahbelfast.com
And So I Watch You From Afar – Cellar Bar – Friday 3rd May 2013
This is one gig you should definitely not pass up, the opportunity to see ASIWYFA in such an intimate venue is very rare and thanks to the guys behind Glasgowbury it is yours. New album ‘All Hail Bright Futures’ is a cracker and with the old material not being too bad either this should be your priority event.
Tickets are £7 and available from directly from them here – I very much doubt there will be any tickets left on the door!
Special Mention: Camden Crawl Dublin – 3rd – 5th May 2013

The events take place in a multitude of venues round Dublin and tickets are a ridiculously cheap €55! Check out some footage of last year to give you an idea of what to expect!
