I honestly have no idea where these weeks go, it seems no time at all since I sat and drew up last week’s selection of gigs. This week there is a nice variety of music on offer.
Foy Vance – Mandela Hall – Tuesday 5th March 2013
Foy Vance is probably one of the most under-appreciated Northern Irish exports and it is nice to see him filling up larger venues as it is nothing less than he deserves. The extremely talented singer-songwriter has had his songs featured on the likes of Grey’s Anatomy and his soothing voice should be your soundtrack this Tuesday evening.
You can buy your tickets directly from the Ticketmaster for £16. There will also be some on the doors.
Stereophonics – Waterfront Hall – Thursday 7th March 2013
Stereophonics return to Belfast to support the release of their latest album, ‘Graffiti on the Train.’ Their last appearance in the city was on a sunny evening as part of Belsonic and it was a stunning show that didn’t disappoint. While you can expect to hear a number of new tracks, I would say there will be a fair share of tracks from that impressive back catalogue!
Tickets are available directly from the Waterfront for £35.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Limelight – Sunday 10th March 2013
San Francisco rockers BRMC make their latest trip to Belfast to promote their new album ‘Specter at the Feast.’ The band have made their latest EP ‘Let the Day Begin’ available for free from their website and it sounds great. Fans of psychedelic garage rock should look no further to give their weekend the perfect send off.
Tickets available for £22.50 from Ticketmaster.
Special Mention
The other one gig I should point out is that of the free Radar gig headlined by the funky and soul driven Dead Presidents. In the Students Union at Queens, you will be treated to a pretty impressive line-up and for those that way inclined some decent drinks offers! More info here!
