Belfast’s Chocolate Love Factory have been around for a few years now, perfecting their brand of ‘prog-punk fuzznk’, as they put it. For the rest of us that’s riff filled rock with a healthy dose of funk and prog influence. Back in November they released their latest EP, the wonderful ‘Pickle & Pog’. Most recently they put on a stellar Nirvana tribute night in Bar Sub.
They have just announced some equally exciting and disheartening news, Chocolate Love Factory’s final single and show. Their newest and sadly last single as CLF is ‘Visions’. ‘Visions’ has plenty of the band’s usual hallmarks with plenty of riffs packed into five and a half minutes. It’s also somewhere a bit different for the band, with an intro of handclapping and a vocal melody, before heading into the riffing with a scream. Complete with some backing organ, the track loudly and proudly shows off the band’s funk inspirations. Also on the single are a couple of live tracks; ‘Delunkulous’ and ‘Pink Teddybear’ from last year’s ‘Pickle & Pog’. The single is available from CLF’s bandcamp page.
Alongside their last single the band announced their last ever show. Their final gig will be in Bar Sub, Saturday 17th May. Alongside Chocolate Love Factory is headliners Bunny & The Banned Its, I Am The Grasshopper and Hydrogen Jukebox. CLF will be filming and recording the night for a live album, so it’s a night not to be missed.
