Rob’s Gig Guide: 19th – 25th August 2013

While we obviously love our Kickstart competition and run it every year, there’s always that sense of relief when it ends. The relief that we can spend more time talking about the Northern Irish music scene as a whole rather than just the select few who enter Kickstart. I’d like to congratulate Lauren Bird one more time, she’s a real talent and we’re genuinely excited to be working with her. We may not have any of our own shows this week but there’s plenty of other great gigs for your enjoyment.

Go Wolf – Menagerie, Belfast – Friday 6th March 2015

The hottest musical property in Northern Ireland right now, Go Wolf, will be releasing their new EP at the first Old Fang show of 2015. ‘Running’ showcases the indie band at their finest with slick, intelligent pop that is simply infectious. Support comes from Travis Is A Tourist.

Admission is £7

Trucker Diablo – Diamond Rock Club, Ahoghill – Saturday 7th March 2015

The news that Trucker Diablo were going on hiatus was met with quite a lot of disappointment. Thankfully it didn’t last too long and after a successful pledge campaign they’re ready to launch their third album. Support comes from Gasoline Outlaws.

Admission is £6

Her World – Oh Yeah Centre, Belfast – Saturday 7th March 2015

To mark International Women’s Day, Oh Yeah will be celebrating the work of one of the most iconic and innovative artists in music, Björk. Featuring Katharine Philippa, Goldie Fawn, R51, Sister Ghost, Jai Mcconnell and DJ Sage bringing an eclectic mix of Björk interpretations, and a showcase of their own material.

Admission is Free
