What a night! I would just like to say a massive thank you to all those who came to our Kickstart gig, the five fantastic bands on the bill, Queen’s Radio & RADAR and everyone else who contributed to the night. The quality of all the bands was very high but Bangor’s In An Instant walked away as the winners of Kickstart 2014. You’ll be seeing and hearing a lot more of them very soon. Moving swiftly on though and here are my gigs of the week:
The Emerald Armada – Voodoo, Belfast – Monday 17th March 2014
As always there is a stack of great gigs around the country for St Patrick’s Day, however this one is our pick. The Emerald Armada will play Voodoo for the 3rd St Patrick’s Day in a row, ahead of releasing a new EP later this year. The supporting cast includes Glasgow’s Fatherson (a must see band), In Their Thousands and Conor Scott.

Resonate Celebration – Nerve Centre, Londonderry – Friday 21st March 2014
During the City of Culture Resonate Project allowed artists around the city access to professional recording facilities as well as capturing the best local music events. To celebrate they are hosting a special gig featuring Paddy Nash, Gemma Bradley, Glenn Rosborough, The Wood Burning Savages, Droids, the Clameens, We Are Aerials, Adam Leonard, Cordials, Best Boy Grip.

The Dandy Horses – Black Box, Belfast – Saturday 22nd March 2014
If you’re a fan of contemporary folk and delicious harmonies, this is the gig for you. The Dandy Horses will be launching their latest EP ‘Hat On The Sun’ with an intimate gig in the Black Box. They are supported by the country tinged trio of Saffyre.
