Apologies for the late gig guide this month, my first one since I’ve come back from holiday and it’s late not a good omen. Thankfully the delay was caused due to a busy week of music; firstly Tennent’s Vital and then the spectacular Stendhal festival (my coverage will be coming later this week hopefully). Keep an eye as well for some coverage of Belsonic and Sunflower Fest both also due over the coming days.
Furlo – Voodoo – Wednesday 21st August 2013
Local indie rockers Furlo are celebrating the release of their debut album ‘Now is Always’ with a gig in Voodoo. Reviews of the album have been very positive and witnessing them at Stendhal was a pleasure. Fans of Biffy Clyro, Smashing Pumpkins, We Are Scientists shouldn’t miss out. Support from Havana House Party and The Late Twos.
Tickets are £4 on the door

The Undertones – The Windsor, Bangor – Friday 23rd August 2013
The Undertones absolutely nailed their Tennent’s Vital performance. They managed to rattle through 23 songs in a short space of time and completely captured the crowd’s attention and of course who doesn’t enjoy hearing ‘Teenage Kicks’. A must see show.
Tickets are £16.50 and are available directly from Open House Festival.

Macfest – McMillans Farm, Ballymoney – Saturday 24th August 2013
Set on McMillan’s Farm in Ballymoney, this festival is being run exclusively for charity. All of the fantastic bands on the bill are playing for FREE! This means that all funds raised goes directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The line-up features Little Bear, Best Boy Grip, The Ard Ri Band and many more.
Tickets are £15 and are available directly from Macfest
