December 1st, the day when it’s finally acceptable to talk about Christmas. If you’ve talked about it before now or worse still had your Christmas tree up before now, then shame on you. Yes I could be falling into scrooge like territory but hopefully my generous selection of gigs to attend will make up for it.
The Left Backs – Bar With No Name, Belfast – Thursday 4th December 2014
Young indie starlets, the Left Backs headline a special charity show to raise funds for Oxfam. Their compatriots on the night will be alt rockers The Bayonettes and pop rockers Gone All Year.
Admission is £6 before 10.30pm or £7 after.
Christmas Mashup – T13, Belfast – Friday 5th December 2014
Friday Mashup are hosting the first live performance from A Plastic Rose on their return to Belfast. A triumphant return it should be as the event is totally free and also features performances from The Crossfire Hurricanes and The Late Twos.

Green Monkey – Bar With No Name – Friday 5th December 2014
Green Monkey headline the latest Shizznigh show with their own brand of funk/rap/rock. Reminiscent of early RHCP their live show shouldn’t be missed. The full bill also comprises Stephen McCorry Trio, Bunny & the Banned Its and Goodbye Nola.
