An exciting week for local music as a number of bands who have been keeping a low profile re-surface for a few shows as well as the chance to hopefully hear some brand new material off forthcoming local albums. It’s going to be a busy week!
Transmit: Silhouette – Stiff Kitten – Wednesday 5th June 2013
Another Wednesday means another Transmit gig, this week they have Shauna Tohill’s Silhouette. Their single ‘Can’t Keep Up’ was ever present over TV and radio over the last year or so and it led to high profile support slots with the likes of Blondie, One Republic and in the summer Jake Bugg. Support on the evening comes from Runaway Go and Rocket Propelled Gorillas!

Lafaro – Limelight 2 – Thursday 6th June 2013
Local riff merchants Lafaro make a very welcome return to the live scene with a headline performance in the Limelight 2. Bring your ear plugs and sharpen those elbows as if there set is anything like that of Pigstock 2012 there’ll be moshpits a plenty. Support comes from the similarly raucous Hornets.

Rams’ Pocket Radio – Stiff Kitten – Friday 7th June 2013
This is the highlight of the week for many local music fans as Rams’ Pocket Radio finally release their debut album. To help celebrate the launch Peter McCauley has managed to get Nathan Connolly (Snow Patrol), SOAK, Owen Strathern (General Fiasco), David C. Clements and Gareth Dunlop to come down and give him a hand.

Special Mention: Getting To Know: VerseChorusVerse – Oh Yeah Centre – Thursday 6th June 2013
Tony Wright aka VerseChorusVerse takes part in the exquisite Getting To Know Series put on by the Oh Yeah Centre. Tony will be performing several tracks (hopefully a few from the forthcoming album) in between being questioned by Stuart Bailie and members of the audience.
