Rob’s Gig Guide: 19th – 25th August 2013

Like Johnny Cash we’ve pretty much been everywhere this summer, covering the likes of Forfey, Swell and Tanglewood. This coming weekend we’re off on the road again, this time to Limavady’s Stendhal Festival of Art, which was one of the highlights of last year for me. If you’re not lucky enough to be heading up, there’s plenty of other shows worthy of your attention.

Storm Tree – Black Box, Belfast – Friday 8th August 2014

The rock and roots of Storm Tree will take to the Black Box to play a charity gig aimed at raising for Shopmobility. They will be joined on the night by Cider Fish and the Acoustic Collective.

Admission is £5 on the door

Ajenda – Diamond Rock Club, Ahoghill – Saturday 9th August 2014

The Belfast based, female fronted Ajenda play a headline show at the renowned Diamond Rock Club. The rockers are one of our Al Gilmore’s favourite local bands and are well worth the trip. Support comes from LoMejor who were formed from the ashes of Swanee River.

Tickets are £5 on the door

Stendhal Festival – Limavady – Friday 8th – Saturday 9th August 2014

Stendhal Festival returns this week with a thrilling line-up with Scottish headliners Frightened Rabbit combined with a huge wealth of local talent. The other headline act is local legends the Undertones but you can also look forward to the likes of Silences, The Wood Burning Savages, In An Instant and Malojian.

Tickets are priced as follows:

Single Weekend £40 (£42 inc admin fee)
Family Weekend £60 (£62 inc admin fee)
Friday single £30 (£32 inc admin fee)
Saturday single £35 (£37 inc admin fee)
