Right now I’m smack in the middle of some important projects in the old day job so unfortunately my own evening outings to gigs is slightly restricted. But you guys should have no excuse to check out this great triple bill of local music.
Lipstik Lizards – Voodoo, Belfast – Wednesday 7th May 2014
Money is pretty much always a factor local bands have to contend with and sleazy rockers, Lipstik Lizards are no different. To raise some funds to record an EP the band are putting together an evening of live music featuring themselves, Car Chase City, On Parole and I am the Grasshopper.
Admission is £5 on the door
Getting to Know: Duke Special – Oh Yeah Music Centre, Belfast – Thursday 8th May 2014
The eccentric Duke Special is the latest local musician to take the hot seat in the Oh Yeah Centre’s Getting to Know series. He will give us an insight into his songwriting and the various projects that he’s been involved in, and of course playing a few songs along the way.
Admission is free but you should reserve in advance from info@ohyeahbelfast.com
Spectrum Acoustic Sessions – The Menagerie, Belfast – Sunday 11th May 2014
The line-up for Spectrum Festival 2014 is very impressive but as another wee treat for us, they’ve put together a lovely night of acoustic music too. On the night you’ll get to hear Conor Scott, Owen McGarry, Ryan McMullan and Brett Newski.
Entry is £5.
