A bit of a quiet week in relation to local gigs but still some great ones to head down to. A brief note as well to say how fantastic Little Bear were at the Limelight 2 on Friday night. As I gazed across a candlelit table at Mr Cinnamond it was so evident that they have the potential for much bigger things. All we need now is to get Small Town America to force an album out of them as they already have 13 or 14 amazing tracks written…
Polly & the Billets Doux – McHugh’s Bar, Belfast – Wednesday 9th October 2013
Bristol based folk rockers Polly & the Billets Doux pay a visit to the intimate McHugh’s Bar with a sumptuous local supporting bill of The Emerald Armada and Ciaran Lavery.

Radar: Hurdles – Speakeasy, Belfast – Thursday 10th October 2013
Peter Cinnamond’s new favourite local band, Hurdles play the latest free Radar event of the year. The indie pop band will be launching their debut EP, ‘Where To Start’ and hoping to cement their status as the band everyone is talking about. Support comes from Affleck and Go Swim.Art rockers R51 play their first show since opening Sunflower Fest back in August.

The Answer – Limelight, Belfast – Friday 11th October 2013
Big time local rockers The Answer have recently released their new album, ‘New Horizon.’ Such as has been the demand for tickets that the gig had to be moved from the Limelight 2, up to the main Limelight. The Downpatrick lads continue to go from strength to strength so this show should not be missed.
