Alt rock trio Ferals are on the up and up. A handful of well received singles and a place on the Scratch My Progress programme reaped benefits and the band developed a dedicated fan base.
The last time we heard from them, they were having their set at Output Belfast cut short due to noise complaints. Now proclaiming themselves as Belfast’s loudest band, the trio are back with the anthemic Separate.
Recorded with the rather prolific Caolan Austin at Small Town America, it tackles the emotional stress of being the binding tie between two people who no longer love each other. A song that is particularly relevant in today’s climate where mental health issues and separation anxieties are only likely to increase.
Separate is a triumphant return for Ferals with plenty of pounding drums and non nonsense riffs interspersed with the clean and determined vocals of Shane McMullan.
