It isn’t always just about the Belfast or Derry music scene you know….The recently announced Eats & Beats Food and Music Festival will see a host of great local artists and food outlets showcase their talents and produce against the backdrop of the Mourne Mountains.

Taking place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September in Newcastle, visitors can enjoy delicious fare at the homegrown and world food villages with over 60 unique and locally produced food and drink outlets and 40+ free music performances on offer throughout the weekend’s festivities.

The homegrown stage feature seasoned performers like the Bonnevilles, the Undertones, Dani Larkin and Cormac Neeson while the Rising Stage features Winnie Ama, Charlie Hanlon, Parker & Laytha.

It is encouraging to see local councils showcasing the wonderful original talent we have on our doorstep and Newry, Mourne & Down council should be commended for putting together and funding this event. Hopefully if the event is well supported, we will see more of this type of event in the future.

Further information about the Eats & Beats Food and Music Festival can be found here.
