Smorgasbord is the brain child of the multi-talented Steven Donnelly, a fixture in the local music scene for many years. His latest endeavour Rackus Rattus Promo have curated an eclectic mix of artists to play Smorgasbord, an inaugural series of events taking place in the newly refurbished Voodoo Belfast throughout June.
Those of you with a penchant for something heavy will be interested in the opening night where Nomadic Rituals, No Great Loss and On Parole will start the riffs before Unyielding Love close out the night by playing ‘The Sweat of Augury’ in its entirety.
If you aren’t particularly into your live music (what are you doing here??), Taking Back Friday might be up your street. A club night full of anthemic Nostalgic – emo, punk, post-hardcore and all the classics with Guest DJs.
Smack in the middle of the month Wynona Bleach (formerly R51) play a rare headline show in Belfast alongside Derry’s latest star ROE, alt rockers Ember Trails and Dirty Faces. The month comes to an end with some alt-folk from No Oil Paintings, with support coming from Buffalo Bay and Mr Donnelly’s own outfit, Steven VX.
Tickets for each night are £5 each or you can buy a ticket that lets you into all events for the reduced price of £15. They will be available on the door though it is recommended that you purchase them online via WeGotTickets in advance.
