Last week was a magnificent week for local music and some truly stunning weather. Thankfully I am only a tad lobster like and am keen to get this week’s gig guide finished so I can get back out in the sun.
Mama Kaz – Black Box – Wednesday 12th June 2013
Kaz Hawkins (formerly Mama Kaz) plays the Black Box to promote her latest single ‘I’m Gonna Run’ which is being released solely to raise money for Cancer Focus. As well as raising money for a good cause this will be the last chance to catch Mama Kaz in it’s current incarnation as Kaz Hawkins goes solo. Support on the evening comes from soul and roots band, StormTree, and acoustic duo Het and Jed.

Stendhal Showcase – Black Box – Thursday 13th June 2013
Stendhal Festival are travelling down from Limavady and bringing some of the bands that will be gracing their festival with them for a small showcase. On offer will be mighty rockers Trucker Diablo, the fast rising The Clameens and JUMA. Just last year Trucker Diablo opened up for the Foo Fighters at Tennent’s Vital so you can be guaranteed a good show.
Tickets are £4 and are only available from the door!
The Late Twos – Stiff Kitten – Friday 14th June 2013
Indie rockers The Late Twos are the headline act for Shizznigh Promotions latest gig. As always there is a plethora of talent on offer with The Couth, Dodging Trains, Echo Raptors (who have just released a great new EP), the Sun Shadows and Aidan Logan filling up the bill.

As part of the run up to Bushmills Live the organisers have put together this exciting gig featuring the best in upcoming local talent David C Clements, Farriers and Little Bear.
Unfortunately you can’t buy tickets but they will be giving them away on their own twitter page and there will also be competitions via Cool FM, Daily Mirror and the Bushmills twitter account.
