Rob’s Gig Guide: 19th – 25th August 2013

Given the excitement surrounding Record Store Day this Saturday (18th April), you’d be forgiven for forgetting about the promising array of live shows taking place up and down the country this week. So by all means get down and support your local record store this Saturday but go one better and support your favourite venues and bands by attending a show.

You Haven’t Heard Of Us Yet – Atlantic Bar, Portrush – Wednesday 15th April 2015

The You Haven’t Heard Of Us Yet tour is a great idea. It sees four local bands from across Northern Ireland come together to play eight shows in different venues across the province. The four bands are Thieves of Ennui, The Shout, 1440 & Lee Harvey Oswald.

Admission is £5

Modern Life Is Rubbish – Sister Ghost – Pavilion Bar, Belfast – Friday 17th April 2015

The latest installment of Modern Life is Rubbish is a surefire winner. Headlined by the tacitly grungy Sister Ghost, the Shannon O’Neill fronted outfit are a captivating live band. Support comes from Serotonin and Hit The B Button.

Admission is £5

Ciaran Lavery & Ryan Vail – SS Nomadic – Saturday 11th April 2015

A unique and aptly chosen venue to launch the exciting collaboration between the haunty vocal tones of Ciaran Lavery and minimalist electronic tones of Ryan Vail. The three tracks released so far have justified the hype surrounding this album and quite simply this show should be filed as unmissable.

Tickets are £10 direct from Ticket Source
