I’m delighted that we’re back up and online again after two weeks of revamping the site. We genuinely hope you like the new design and that you’ll continue to help us support Northern Irish music. In that vein, here are three of the best local shows on offer this week.
Gerard i2 – Voodoo, Belfast – Thursday 17th July 2014
Veering away from this usual offering of indie or rock, Shizznigh turn to Gerard i2, Sketch Nine & Omar and Mr Mills to provide an intriguing insight into the hip-hop/rap scene in Northern Ireland.
Admission is £5 on the door
Rock For Pride – Sandinos, Londonderry – Thursday 17th July 2014
Local heroes The Wood Burning Savages return from a triumphant performance at Glastonbury to help raise funds for the pride movement in Derry. They are joined by fearsome two piece The Bonnevilles and relative newcomers Lady J.
Tickets are £5 on the door
No Matter – McHughs, Belfast – Saturday 19th July 2014
Pop punk was always an acquired taste for many and while it’s influence has diminished as time has gone by, Belfast’s No Matter have been one local band keeping the fire lit. This headline performance is to highlight the release of their latest EP ‘Drop the Act’. Support comes from fellow pop punk purveyors Left Undercover, Nerdmore and Drop Your Guns.
Admission is FREE
