Sound of Belfast is over and while there didn’t seem to be as big a buzz as there was during Belfast Music week last year, it can still be considered a success. Massive thank you to all who attended our gig with LORIS, we were blown away with the turnout and hope you had a great evening. We’ll be announcing our next one very soon. Plus congratulations are in order to Robyn G Shiels for walking away with the Northern Ireland Music Prize 2014. Keep the momentum going with some more live music this week.
Callum Stewart – Menagerie, Belfast – Thursday 20th November 2014
Callum Stewart may still be in school but the 17 year old is seen as one of our brightest young talents and for good reason. His first single ‘Free’ was a soaring effort and thankfully on this very night he’s launching his next single, ‘Gold’. Support comes from Jamie Neish.
Admission is £5.
Those Ghosts – Dicey Rileys, Strabane – Saturday 22nd November 2014
Fresh from playing our last gig and really never too far from our hearts as our original winners of Kickstart, Those Ghosts launch their new EP, Delays, with a headline show in their hometown. Expect plenty of big tunes and of course plenty of banter. Particularly when their supporting cast is Freak’s.
Admission is £4
Ballet School – Voodoo, Belfast – Saturday 22nd November 2014
Ballet School may have formed in Germany but the electro pop trio have a Belfast native in their midst. Signed to the infamous Bella Union label, they’ve done well critically on the blogosphere and are a band on the up.
Admission is £9 on the door
