We are always pleased to hear about gig announcements and Belfast Music Week’s acknowledgement of there being over 250 music events in the space of a week means I’ll have my work cut out as Live Reviews Editor. If you haven’t read about it yet check out my article – Belfast Music Week 2013: First Details Announced. This week sees a host of gigs on Thursday for Arthur’s Day, we’ll have more details of those as they’re confirmed.
More Than Conquerors – Limelight 2, Belfast – Monday 23rd September 2013
One of the biggest gigs of the year so far sees More Than Conquerors launch their debut album. The album has clocked up amazing reviews in the likes of Hotpress, Rocksound and will hopefully catapult the local lads onto bigger things. Support comes from Fatherson and Craig McConkey.
Entry is £8 and you can buy your tickets from Ticketmaster now!
Radar: The Dead Presidents – QUBSU, Belfast – Thursday 26th September 2013
Radar is back with the stunning Dead Presidents as headliners. The last time they played Radar the place was packed out so we recommend getting down early if you want to boogie to some funk infused rock. If that doesn’t do it for you Punk rapper BeeMickSee and indie rockers The Clameens will be further down the bill.
Entry is FREE
Cut the Transmission Festival – The Venue, Londonderry – Saturday 28th September 2013
Local rockers Fighting With Wire have sadly decided to call it a day but they aim to go out with a bang. They have curated a festival of live music for your entertainment that features a plethora of local talent (More Than Conquerors, Lafaro…) and a few big hitters too (Frank Turner anyone?). This is not to be missed.
Tickets are £20 which is dirt cheap for this quality line-up – buy tickets directly from the Millenium Forum website
