Rob’s Gig Guide: 8th April – 14th April 2013

It’s quite remarkable that this week’s gig guide got compiled. Our inbox has been overwhelmed with quality new music in response to our Kickstart competition and the rest of this week will be spent indulging in it. What is so frustrating is that the end of the week is looking pretty good for gigs. So many things to do, so little time.

Gifted: Conor Scott – The Empire, Belfast – Thursday 5th February 2015

Talented singer songwriter Conor Scott is the next headline act for Gifted’s Thursday night residence in the Empire. He’ll be joined by the exquisitely twee purveyors of folk, the Jepettos and the rather soulful Kate Quinby.

Admission is £3

Freak’s – The Bar With No Name, Belfast – Friday 6th February 2015

Strabane’s pop maestros won over plenty of hearts and minds in 2014 with big hitting singles ‘A Minute More’ and ‘Number One’ setting tongues wagging. For their first headline performance of 2015 they’ll have the company of Foreign Affairs and the Titanics.

Admission is £5

Ed Zealous – Voodoo, Belfast – Saturday 7th February 2015

The first big casualty of the NI music scene in 2015 is Ed Zealous. The band renowned for fizzy electro pop anthems are calling it a day with this being their final live performance. For this swansong they’ve put together an impressive bill with the Wonder Villains, Meb Jon Sol and A Bad Cavalier

Admission is £6 on the door
