As I write this gig guide from my back garden it seems that our glorious two days of summer sunshine have arrived. Hopefully we’ll get more good weather throughout July and particularly in August as the local festivals continue to release new information on their events.

Peace are quite rapidly becoming the band you have to go see in 2013, with comparisons to the Maccabees, Foals and Vampire Weekend. Support comes from New Zealand’s electronica loving Superfood.

Bell X1 – Oh Yeah Music Centre – Tuesday 9th July 2013
Dubliners Bell X1 have set off around the country setting up pop-up shops to support the release of their latest album Chop Chop. Should you buy a copy of the album you will be party to them play a short acoustic set from the new record. They will also be more than happy to sign any merchandise.

More Than Conquerors – Cellar Bar – Saturday 13th July 2013
Chordblossom favourites More Than Conquerors play their final warm up show before their hotly anticipated appearance at Glasgowbury. Also on the bill are Hurdles, who have been blowing people away with their latest single ‘Kaleidoscope.’
