[separator]Last week I experienced two amazing gigs, one from Northern Ireland’s own the Bonnevilles recording a live album and the second American rockers Jimmy Eat World who smashed their set out of the park. Two perfect examples of how strong the live gig situation in Northern Ireland. This week is another busy one with several big name bands coming from across the water as well as the return of Radar’s free gigs and a few local showcases in Londonderry.
Radar: Not Squares – Speakeasy, Belfast – Thursday 12th September 2013
Thursday night sees the return of Radar’s free weekly gigs. The first one is a scorcher with electronic trio Not Squares doing their best to ensure you’ll be dancing into the early hours. The hotly tipped and personal favourites of mine Go Wolf as well as Adultrock.

Jetplane Landing – Limelight 2, Belfast – Saturday 14th September 2013
Jetplane Landing are back, their latest release ‘Don’t Try’ is one of my favourite releases of 2013 with plenty of hard riffs and that ridiculously catchy ‘My Radio Heart’. Don’t miss them in their natural element of a live show; chaos, good banter and cracking music are guaranteed. Support comes from Axis Of!
Tickets are £8 on the door or £9 from Ticketmaster
