With the exception of Lauren Bird, the local music stronghold of Strabane has been mightily quiet. Thank goodness then for the return of Tokyo Empire. There may be no sign of any of their old recorded tracks online any longer but ‘Echoes‘ doesn’t stray far from the beaten track.
The lack of new music from the indie outfit can be explained by their efforts to find a new drummer. However now that Andrew Sayers is on board they can get down to the business of playing and making music. Changes in personnel aside, ‘Echoes’ is a the kind of soaring anthem that we have come to expect from the band and leaves us excited for their forthcoming debut album.
