Coleraine quartet, The Bayonettes have garnered praise from us on a number of occasions and also recently headlined our latest Exposure gig so we are absolutely thrilled to premiere their latest single. ‘2 Miles For Me Is 1000 For You‘ is the latest soaring anthem to be produced by the young band.
Their love of an epic chorus not getting in the way of their visions of post rock greatness, if anything it helps them towards this goal. As Danny McClellend’s laments “Please tell me that there is something more than this” one could definitely say that there is lots still to be accomplished by the band. With this single and indeed the previous (‘A Small Step To Greater Heights’), Danny, Sam, Shane & David are more than ready to start filling bigger venues and perhaps embark on some touring away from these shores.
‘Every band goes through that awkward period where things start to fall apart. We’ve dealt with death, moving away and losing a member all this year and we’ve dealt with it the only way we know how and that’s pouring it all into this song.
We’ll move mountains for this band as long as we have to, because it’s clear now that it’s what we’re meant to do. We hope everyone enjoys the song and thank you for listening.’

Recorded in Zero Hour Studios and produced by Michael McCluskey, the release is the last effort to feature drummer Brandon Ali. Brandon has decided to leave the band and has been replaced by David Wolsey. A video for the single filmed by Dead Juice Productions will be released along with the single very shortly.
