You can tell we’re heading towards the summer time as the festivals are confirming their line-ups and the local bands have been showcasing their best new songs and videos to try and grab our attention. While all of us here at Chordblossom are certainly looking forward to summer, there’s still plenty of goings on between now and then.
Songs For Syria – The Empire, Belfast – Friday 11th April 2014
There have been a fair few charity events of late and this is another one which features a quality line-up. To raise money for the Syrian Crisis appeal The Farriers, Anthony Toner, Master & Dog & Seven Summits have agreed to play a few songs in the magnificent surroundings of the Empire.

Dutch Schultz – Voodoo, Belfast – Friday 11th April 2014
My gig guide this week is mainly chilled out so I’ve thrown this bad boy in for all of you who prefer things a bit heavier. A headline performance from the riff loving Dutch Schultz as well as the raucous PigsAsPeople and Bellos.
Admission is £5 on the door
Breaking Bands #1: Mere Moths – Oh Yeah Music Centre, Belfast – Saturday 12th April 2014
The first in a new series of showcase events from the Oh Yeah Music Centre kicks off with an EP launch for Dromore’s Mere Moths. Patrick Wright, the man behind the moniker has impressed with the first single ‘You Grew Up’ so it’ll be intriguing to hear what the rest of the EP holds. Joining the bill are Rhinos, Paper Man and Matthew Duly.
