This weeks see several legendary rock bands in Journey, Whitesnake and Meatloaf but more importantly there are several high profile local events taking place that shouldn’t be ignored either.
Radar: Katie & the Carnival – Speakeasy – Thursday 16th May 2013
Katie Richardson has been in high demand of late performing covers of Marilyn Monroe songs and being lined up for the forthcoming Lord Mayor’s party in Belfast. Expectations are high for her Radar appearance particularly with in the inclusion of up and coming acts Go Wolf and Vanilla Gloom.
Entry is completely FREE
Trucker Diablo – Diamond Rock Club, Ahoghill – Saturday 18th May 2013
Local rockers Trucker Diablo feature quite frequently on our playlists at Chordblossom HQ and it is always a treat to see them live. This occasion is quite special as the lads will play an acoustic set and then after a short break they will resume normal service and play through their latest album in it’s entirety.
Tickets are £6 and are available from We Got Tickets
Pocket Billiards – Speakeasy – Saturday 18th May 2013
Having been around for over ten years the Pocket Billiards are still going strong. One of my own favourite local bands to see live, there is always a fantastic atmosphere at their shows. Support from the funky NI Soul Troop and Concrete Circus. My advice: bring your dancing shows!
Advance tickets from Ticketmaster are £5 or else £6 on the door
Special Mention: Mojo Fury – Voodoo – Saturday 18th May 2013
The Thin Air is a new local music and culture site and as part of their launch they have put together a sumptuous line-up. Mojo Fury play their debut album in it’s entirety alongside PigsAsPeople, Vanilla Gloom and Blue Whale.
Tickets are £5
