Rob’s Gig Guide: 19th – 25th August 2013

I genuinely thought that once Kickstart was over that things would calm down a bit; how wrong I was. I’ll not spoil any surprises just yet but we have a few exciting things in the pipe-line. That is my excuse for not hosting my usual gig guide last week as time literally ran away from me. I’ve pulled my finger out this week though and present you with three gigs you should get to this week.

Radar: Go Swim – Speakeasy, Belfast – Thursday 3rd April 2014

There is a bit of a buzz behind the electro-pop Go Swim particularly as their latest single ‘Call Sign’ wracked up quite a bit of radio airplay. They headline the latest Radar event with a little help from Thee Penny Dreadfuls and Skip Moses.

Admission is free

Decomposing In Paris – Empire Music Hall, Belfast – Friday 4th April 2014

The Belfast based Decomposing in Paris are not long finished an impressive US tour and are now ready to launch their 2nd EP ‘Cocoon’ with a headline show in the institution that is the Empire. Their support slots have been filled by the dreamy folk of The Jepettos and cellist Alana Henderson.

Entry is £5. Money raised will help fight human trafficking and modern day slavery.

Music For Change – Oh Yeah Music Centre, Belfast – Saturday 5th April 2014

A bumper line-up has been assembled by 100 Help the Homeless to try and raise some much needed funds to prevent homelessness in NI. The bands giving up their time are Seven Summits, Amidships, Echo Raptors and Feet For Wings, you’ll be very lucky to see these four top notch local bands in one evening.

Admission is £5 on the door
