Rob’s Gig Guide: 19th – 25th August 2013

Happy anniversary to us! Yesterday Chordblossom turned 2 years old, how time flies when you’re having fun. We’ve been delighted with all the support we have received over that time and from a personal point of view I have plenty of big plans for the year ahead. As always our door is always open so if we can help you in anyway please get in touch! Enough sentiment, time for this week’s gig guide!

Radar: Sullivan & Gold – Speakeasy, Belfast – Thursday 6th February 2014
Radar returns with the enigmatic Sullivan & Gold playing their first Belfast show of the year. Their debut album For Foes was one of our albums of the year so we’re very excited to see it played live. The supporting cast of Wild Promises and the Jepettos isn’t too shabby either.

Admission is FREE

Little Matador – Atlantic Bar, Portrush – Thursday 6th February 2014
Snow Patrol’s Nathan Connelly surprised many with his new scuzzy rock band and based on their support slot with QOTSA late in 2013, their debut album is going to hit hard. The intimate surroundings of the Atlantic Bar will only enhance their stadium anthems. Joining them are The Wood Burning Savages (who have a big year ahead of them) and a cameo appearance from Terri Hooley.

Admission is £4.00 on the door

Other Voices – Various Venues, Derry/Londonderry – Friday 7th – Sunday 9th February 2014
The musical juggernaut that is Other Voices is taking a weekend trip to Londonderry. As well as a special gig at the Glassworks featuring the likes of Foy Vance, Public Service Broadcasting and Bell X1, there will be a host of free events, in St Columb’s Cathedral, St Augustines Church and the recently renovated Guildhall. These free shows will feature the likes of Little Bear, the Clameens and many more.

Admission to Music Trail events are FREE, the Glassworks gigs are by ticket only.

Do you want some Free Publicity?

Do you think your upcoming gig deserves to feature on my weekly gig listing or would you like us to come down and review your show? Well drop me an email at: livereviews@chordblossom.co.uk and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
